Symptom:
Error 2220 is displayed on my PM5
Resolution:
The error code 2220-XX can sometimes occur during or after a firmware update. To resolve this issue, follow these steps:
- Remove both batteries from the PM5 showing the error
- Leave the batteries out for a full 15 minutes
- After 15 minutes, reinstall fresh batteries
The monitor should then power back on and either request the date and time be set or continue to complete updating. Let it complete the update and/or reset the date and time. Check if the error code reoccurs.
If the error message does not show up, the issue has been resolved.
If the error persists after this period, follow these steps:
- Remove the batteries (2 D cells) from the monitor
- Press and hold the top and bottom softkeys (unmarked buttons) and the UNITS button
- While holding all 3 buttons down, re-insert the batteries into the monitor. This should prompt the PM5 to enter flash loader mode
- Download the Concept2 Utility to a Mac or PC and connect the PM5 to the computer using a USB A to B cable (you can remove the PM5 from the monitor arm and bring it to the computer if more convenient)
- Once the PM5 is connected, open the Concept2 Utility, wait for the monitor to be recognized, and then select Maintenance and Settings > Perform Monitor Maintenance > Fully Reload Firmware.
- Wait for the update to complete, disconnect the cable, and check if the error code has been resolved.
